ICID 28 => DARK_WLS_STABILITY_BINNINGEIGHT

Illumination:

  • Dark (background) measurements corresponding to White Light Source (WLS) stability measurements (binning factor 8) of ICID 29.

Purpose:

  • Dark (background) measurements (binning factor 8) corresponding to WLS stability measurements (binning factor 8).

Location:

  • Eclipse side of the orbit.

Usage:

  • From launch onwards, once per week, five times per month.

Description:

Dark (background) measurements with the exact same instrument settings as the WLS_STABILITY_BINNINGEIGHT light measurement of ICID 29. The dark (background) measurements are performed directly prior to the WLS stability light measurements on the eclipse side of the orbit with the Sun Aperture Mechanism (SAM) closed and with the Folding Mirror Mechanism (FMM) in the position that blocks all Earth light. The dark (background) measurements are eventually used to correct the light measurements in the 0-1 data processing.
